All schools and kindergartens in Romania will be closed starting Wednesday, March 11 until March 22 to prevent coronavirus spread, interim Prime Minister Ludovic Orban announced after the meeting of the National Committee for Emergency Situations. Measure can be extended if the situation so requires.
Also, the Ministry of Education in partnership with Romanian Television will hold courses for all levels of education. The programs, called Teleșcoală ( Teleschool ), are created especially for the eighth and twelfth-grade students, to ensure that they will learn the subjects for the national exams.
Ministry of Education has decided to suspend national and regional school Olympics, as well as sports competitions.
